QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED
Question 1 - Does my child need to be potty trained?
Yes child must be toilet trained before commencement of nursery school. Staff
to child ratios unfortunately do not allow for the extra time required to complete diaper changes.
Exceptions will be made however for children with additional support needs.
Question 2 - Can my child attend both the AM and PM Program?
Unfortunately, our program is not designed as a full-day childcare option. At this time, we only offer half-day programs and do not accommodate full-day attendance.
Question 3 - What is the class size, and how many teachers supervise the children?
Each class can accommodate up to 19 students and includes at least one Early Childhood Educator and one Childcare Assistant. Depending on enrollment and the specific needs of the children, additional staff may be assigned to provide extra support as needed.
Question 4 - Do we need to live within the school’s catchment area to enrol, and will attending your program give my child priority for elementary school admission?
We accept students from outside the school’s catchment area. However, our nursery program operates independently from Angus McKay School and does not provide priority admission to the elementary school. Admission to any school, including Angus McKay, is determined by the school and its designated catchment area policies for Kindergarten placement.
